Welcome.
If you made it this far, you’re probably lost. The left turn at Albuquerque is back that-a-way! But while you’re here, you might as well rest a spell, take your shoes off, and…relax. The spell won’t hurt, and afterwards, you won’t have any more need for shoes. Just look at this happy customer.

“No! Don’t touch that!”

I made it to Chapter Eleven of the first rewrite yesterday. It’s a milestone, as it begins a new book of the novel, the “running from enemies” book. The set-up took ten chapters, and I’m hoping they were worth it to the reader. I tried to make sure there was excitement and intrigue, but as I lack drama in my life, I had to draw from personalities in the news and quite a bit of my own past pain to make it sing. Hopefully, it will resonate with the editors that decide which books to publish. We’ll see. All I can do is my best.
Disclaimer:
This hot mess is my second venture into the realm of Social Media, not counting various pithy and uninformed comments on YouTube. Here you will see the kinds of stories my brain forced upon me, sometimes in the middle of the night when my guard was down. I hope you enjoy them as much as they enjoyed plaguing me.
About Me:
For 19 years I was on the front lines of Banquet service as an assistant manager, dealing with a variety of guests. Then, I was in retail briefly, until a spate of dissatisfaction drove me to resign my commission and dedicate myself to a singular goal: write the Great American Novel. Still pounding away at that, and while using the book as one form of therapy, I hope to use this site as another, and to bring to you the best that I can offer. I don’t guarantee that the stories will be epic, or even good…that didn’t come out right…but at least they will be…palatable. Taken with a grain of salt and a little paprika. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes until cheese bubbles.
The Mission:
To explore new worlds and new civilizations…to boldly go where no writer has gone before!
You ever watch a movie and look at the background extras and wonder what their stories are, or where they are going, and what their lives are like? No? Never? It’s just me, then? You would rather watch the main characters get through their story without the distraction of a million other stories that have nothing to do with the main plot?

- Dust“Why do I have to do everything around here?” he complained as he slid quietly through the duct, kicking up clouds of dust that shouldn’t be there. Where were the maintenance bots that were supposed to prevent this kind of thing? He would need to reprimand the computer for it later, after he took careContinue reading “Dust”
- SpaceshipThe cryotube hissed open, releasing a gout of steam, and he sat up, blinking groggily. Fortunately, the same computer that had so rudely woken him up was considerate enough to keep the lights dim to give his eyes a chance to adjust, but still, it had interrupted a marvelous dream that now swiftly faded away,Continue reading “Spaceship”
- Fan Fiction (unedited)The Doctor swooned in the middle of spinning the spinny gizmo as his entire life flashed in front of him. As he fell, his companion swooped in and caught him under the arm. “Doctor?” she demanded. “What’s wrong?” The Doctor shook his head to clear the cobwebs. “There was… a disturbance… as if… a dozenContinue reading “Fan Fiction (unedited)”
- BlockedHe stared at the screen for a long time, deliberately thinking of nothing, and not even its brilliant glow sparked anything good. It wasn’t writer’s block. There were plenty of ideas pouring into his mind, but all of them were dark and morbid and had no place in either his head or in the book.Continue reading “Blocked”
- To Our Last BreathShe successfully got around the rioting crowds and the insanity and finally made it! It wasn’t easy, but she was used to slipping past angry liberals and violent protestors, and it was only a matter of time before she reached safety. That’s what she kept telling herself, and she was right, as usual. She madeContinue reading “To Our Last Breath”
